Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

You can begin using SilaFit as a guest. We create a random per-install device identifier so the app can maintain your session. If you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, authentication provider, and account identifiers.

To personalize fitness and nutrition features, SilaFit processes information you provide, including age, gender, height, bodyweight, fitness goals, training experience and preferences, workout plans, exercises, sets, repetitions, weight lifted, meal logs, calorie and macronutrient targets, streaks, and progress history. If you choose to scan a meal, SilaFit also processes the meal photo you take or pick, as described in section 3.

We also process notification preferences, device push tokens, time zone, app interactions needed to deliver reminders, subscription status, and basic technical information required to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

2. How we use information

• Provide workout tracking, training plans, meal planning, progress insights, reminders, and account synchronization.
• Calculate fitness and nutrition targets and generate personalized summaries and recommendations.
• Authenticate users, protect accounts, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.
• Process subscriptions and determine access to paid features.
• Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests.

SilaFit does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. AI-assisted features

AI reviews, AI weekly plans and meal photo scans are handled by a third-party AI service. Before any of your information is sent, the app asks for your permission and lists what will be shared. With that permission, SilaFit sends the following to OpenRouter and the AI model provider it routes the request to:

• your display name;
• workouts: sessions, exercises, weights, volume, effort, and streaks;
• nutrition: logged meals, calories, and your calorie and macronutrient targets;
• body weight change, training goal, experience level, and equipment;
• for meal photo scans: the meal photo you choose to scan and, if you entered one, the meal name.

Your email address and account identifiers are never sent. This information is used only to generate the review, plan or meal estimate you requested. You can withdraw permission at any time in the app's Settings, after which no further information is sent for AI features.

Meal photo scans. SilaFit asks for camera or photo library access only when you choose to scan a meal, and only the single photo you take or pick is used. The photo is sent to the AI service solely to estimate the meal's ingredients, portions, calories and macronutrients. SilaFit does not store your meal photos or the AI's response on its servers; we keep only the time of each scan to apply the daily scan limit. The estimate is shown to you in the app, and only the ingredients and nutrition you choose to save become part of your meal log. OpenRouter and the AI model provider may retain request data temporarily under their own privacy policies, for example for abuse monitoring. You can turn off camera or photo access at any time in your device settings.

AI-generated information can be incomplete or inaccurate and is provided for general fitness guidance, not medical diagnosis or treatment.

4. When information is shared

We share information only as needed with service providers that help us run SilaFit, such as hosting (Hetzner), sign-in (Apple and Google, if you choose them), email delivery, push notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging), payment processing (Apple App Store and Google Play), and AI processing, including meal photo scans (OpenRouter, as described above). These providers process information on our behalf subject to their contractual and legal obligations.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction where appropriate safeguards apply.

5. Storage, security, and retention

SilaFit uses encrypted network connections for production traffic and platform-provided secure storage for credentials on your device. We apply technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain legitimate business records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible.

6. Your choices and rights

You can change workout-reminder preferences in the app, and notification, camera and photo permissions in your device settings (Settings on iOS, or Settings > Apps > SilaFit on Android). You can export your data or permanently delete your account in the app's Settings, or request deletion at sila.fitness/delete-account. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

7. Children

SilaFit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

8. Health and fitness notice

SilaFit is a general fitness and nutrition tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing an exercise or nutrition program, especially if you have a medical condition or injury.

9. International processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes to SilaFit or applicable law. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
